about

With this song we seek to bring awareness to deafness and the universal language spoken by all: body-language. Sign language is straight to the point and inherently more truthful. Production wise I focussed on making sure the drums would knock and the bass would shake your soul. This because of a personal experience working with deaf dancers, whom would "feel" the beat through the bass and the kickdrum.

lyrics

Ey yo, count your blessings
(shout out Vinnie too by the way)
You’ve got at least more than five
Souls without shame

With an inability to lie and your feelings you can't hide
where you listen with your eyes and ya' senses delight
This isn't disability with audibility denied
Nah … this is being alive
Shedding light on the condition, Living through the sights of vision
And the diction you’re depicting in these bodily positions
Is perfection in fruition, we're forgetting how to listen
All of those with hearing, Steering the conversation
To another stage of words, Ask yourself what would happen
If you took the time to learn, to speak without words
As if the sound was observed and the rapping wasn't heard
Imagining the worth of chatting with ya’ nerves
Fattening the bass so you can taste what's in the verse
Embracing the space that is yours, his and hers
From the shapes you emerge, no words, no terms
Just signs being seen and not heard

Signs of language that surround us all
Signs that vanish when there’s no sound at all
Signs of vantage when action calls
Reminders of this language that binds us all
Signs of language that surround us all
Signs that vanish when there’s no sound at all

Signals on your face
Hands that move with grace
Language that you see
Connecting you and me

Signals on your face
Hands that move with grace (such grace)
Language that you see
Connecting you and me

Intonations in facial expressions
Hands rotating and so many lessons
There's so much more to us than the words of a sentence
And when your intentions have no hiding place
Your tendons they state the expressions you convey
I thank you for the type of bravery that you embrace
You don't need a hearing aid or need to translate
So speak with your hands, your body and face

Signs of language that surround us all
Signs that vanish when there’s no sound at all
Signs of vantage when action calls
Reminders of this language that binds us all
Signs of language that surround us all
Signs that vanish when there’s no sound at all
Signs of vantage when action calls
Reminders of this language that binds us all

Signals on your face
Hands that move with grace (such grace)
Language that you see
Connecting you and me

Signals on your face
Hands that move with grace (such grace)
Language that you see
Connecting you and me

Hands that move with grace (such grace)
Language that you see
Connecting you and me
